Eternal Life with the Father

“And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.”

1 John 5:11 (NIV)

What is eternal life? It is the unending and indestructible life of God. Therefore, when you receive eternal life, you receive the very nature and righteousness of God. This life lifts you right into God’s class of being.

In our daily routine, we often hear conversations about who God is. However, God is not just a supernatural being Who is so powerful that no one can resist Him. There’s more to Him than just His power. The Bible tells us that God is holy, righteous, and just. God is love. He created everything, and nothing exists that He didn’t create. Everything belongs to Him.

Beloved, we are from God. He made us and has a plan for us. In His plan is eternal life. He gave us eternal life so that we would be more than mere creatures. He gave us eternal life to lift us into His class of being. 2 Corinthians 5:17 states, ‘If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature.’

If you’re born again, it means you’re in Christ; you’re a new creature, a new kind of man, a new type of being, in God’s class of being.

This doesn’t mean that you and God are equal – NO. It simply means that you share in His nature. He remains your God and Heavenly Father, and He is greater than you. However, you can relate with Him at a personal level, in a father-and-child relationship.

This is what eternal life is all about. It’s the life that God has given to us through Jesus Christ. This is the Good News/Gospel that we share. Let’s proclaim to the world that Eternal Life is available, and anyone who believes is lifted into God’s class of being.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ. I am grateful because I have been lifted into Your class of being with Your divine nature and righteousness. As Your creation, I have Your unending and indestructible life in me. Help me to walk in the consciousness of this life every day. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
